Export Finance Norway (Eksfin) is a governmental financial enterprise established on 1 July 2021 through the merger of the Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency (GIEK) and Export Credit Norway.
Eksfin falls under the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.
Eksfin promotes Norwegian exports by assisting Norwegian companies, foreign buyers and their banks with a wide range of government loans, guarantees and competent advice. Eksfin’s financing solutions are a government supplement to the private banking and financial market. Eksfin also manages other financing schemes for Norwegian business and industry without export purposes.
The purpose of the merger of the Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency (GIEK) and Export Credit Norway is to make the export financing offer easier for the business community and to have a more efficient export financing system.
