Hydrogenious LOHC Maritime AS is developing a new zero-emission energy system based on hydrogen for ships.
The company is jointly founded by Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies GmbH and Østensjø Group.
The technology is based on extracting hydrogen from a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) to be used as electrical power on board ships. The use of LOHC is a safe and cost-effective way to transport and store hydrogen without pressure or cryogenics, both on land and on board ships, by utilizing existing tanks and infrastructure for MGO and heavy oil.
