Trustful collaboration and learning
GSP has two main activities:
Partnership program and piloting
GSP is all about learning, initiating green solutions, and establishing green competitive advantage – rapidly.
The program aims to foster dialogue, trustful collaboration, and learning across the maritime value chain.
The pilots are created in the partnership program.
All pilots begin with a pilot study, typically a technical, economic, and safety feasibility study led by a pilot owner. The ambition is to realize the pilot, given that the study yields acceptable results.
The pilot study is staffed with participants from the entire value chain of the pilot. GSP/DNV acts as the pilot facilitator for all pilots.
Pilots that are realized are organized as any commercial project.
(The pilot owner has no obligations towards GSP and GSP members during the realization phase.)
For further learning, GSP encourages the pilot owner to report status, including challenges and new opportunities
Service Center for green fleet renewal
The GSP Service Center aims to contribute to fleet renewal and scaling. The goal is to reduce emissions from maritime transport by building new, environmentally friendly ships and phasing out older, polluting ones.
The Service Center works on concrete realization projects with both shipping companies and cargo owners.
The GSP Service Center aims to create markets for the use of green technologies as a foundation for its overarching goal: fleet renewal.
Communication
The Green Shipping Programme aims to disseminate learning from the program, communicate experiences, and openly share information about what works and what does not.
The program facilitates dialogue and collaboration so that politicians, authorities, and business leaders can make informed decisions.
