Public-private partnership
The Green Shipping Programme (GSP) is partially funded through partner contributions and partially through allocations from the state budget by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
In the GSP, the entire value chain is represented, including cargo owners, builders, shipping companies, ports, shipyards, and suppliers of technologies, equipment, services, and fuels, as well as public agencies and authorities that design the regulatory framework.
By the spring of 2024, the program’s partner group included over 100 private companies and organizations, in addition to 13 government observers.
The partner group is the program’s highest authority and meets four times a year.
A strategic council consisting of leaders from the industry and public sector has been established. The council’s tasks are to:
- Guide the program on strategic and tactical issues
- Contribute to the implementation of the vision
- Promote ideas aimed at maintaining and further developing Norway’s leading position in the green maritime transition
GSP’s administration is managed by DNV and consists of:
- Magnus Strandmyr Eide, Director
- Eivind Dale, Head of the Service Center
- Eirill Bachmann Mehammer, Project manager for the partnership program
- Per Wiggo Richardsen, Director of Communications
